I'm raising money do go a sponsored cycle ride in June 2025. DCHS Charitable Funds for Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to build premises to accommodate patients who, otherwise upon discharge from inpatient wards would have no home to go to and no means to look after themselves.

I was inspired by Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust who built "Tile House" which not only houses patients with no where else to go but provides recovery classes and teaches life skills that then enables these patients to go on and live independently - a kind of half way home .

They have successfully broken the cycle whereby patients discharged have no where to go and no means or capacity to support themselves, and so end up being readmitted to psychiatric inpatient services. Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust have saved well over £440,000 from having taken onboard this amazing initiative.

It is my wish, that having been an inpatient myself , I can help raise the funds for Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to build such a residential setting and in turn improve the quality of life of many who have mental health problems to help prepare them for independent living and reduce the need to be readmitted to psychiatric inpatient services, whilst saving a lot of money which could be used elsewhere within the Trust.
