Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Our mother Muriel Askew (known before that as Muriel Twiddy, until our father’s unexpected death 27 years ago), lived an inspirational life of joyous and compassionate service for others. She was a devoted husband to David, and in her later years, to John. She was a loving mother to Andy, Pete, and Tim, and a grandmother for James, Iain, Clare, Cameron, Toria, Michael, and Euan. She worked as a nurse throughout her working life, as well as volunteering tirelessly in countless ways in her church communities and wider communities throughout Scotland and England. She was a parish organist and pianist for 70 years, from the age of 12 until her sudden passing as a result of a stroke, October 3rd, 2018. Over the last 15 years, she has played on 19 different church organs throughout the South of Scotland and Border areas. Her last public act was to play the organ at a memorial service. She died full of faith , hope, and love, and at peace with herself and at peace with the world. Her impact on others has already drawn a huge outpouring of care and appreciation. I along with my brothers Pete and Tim invite you to give to CrossReach in her honour.
