Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am part of a team of 6 from First Names Group who have committed to raising funds for Headway by running the London Marathon.  I am having a "warm up" by running the Frankfurt marathon on 30th October.  These will be my first full marathon distance races, so a big challenge!

Just back from the pre-race warm up "Pretzel 5k" great atmosphere are weather forecast looking good for tomorrow's race.

Headway Jersey provides essential support, information and services to people in Jersey who are affected by brain injury. 

From very small beginnings 15 years ago the charity has grown dramatically. 

The Headway centre is now seeing an increase in the number of referrals. We currently have over 150 survivors of brain injury registered with us as members.

Acquired brain injury(ABI) covers all situations in which a brain injury has occurred since birth including traumatic brain injury from road traffic accidents, assaults, falls and accidents at home or at work as well as tumour, stroke, brain haemorrhage and encephalitis.

Everyone is at risk regardless of age or social standing. The effects on the individual and their families are dramatic. Most will require some form of assistance. How would you feel if your child, partner or family member couldn’t remember who you are, where they live or even who they are married to?
