I am a trustee of Scannappeal and was approached by them last year to find a way to raise £30k for the Breast Cancer Unit at Wycombe Hospital.  This money will allow the Unit to buy vital diagnostic equipment and make a real difference to patient's experience at an already difficult time.

• A woman’s lifetime risk of breast cancer is 1 in 8 and this year alone the unit have diagnosed 800 cases of breast cancer
  
• More procedures could be performed, reducing waiting times for appointments and minimizing anxiety
  
• Procedures can be done under local anesthesia as an outpatient rather than the patient needing to have a general anesthetic in theatre
  
• Waiting times could be cut from six week wait to just 1 week

We currently have a team of 30 men and women training for this event and are looking for additional members if you are interested in joining us!
