In Memory of Andrew Wallace

Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting this JustGiving page in memory of our dad Andrew Wallace. Dad passed away unexpectedly on Friday 21 May 2021.
Dad was a loving husband to our mum Evelyn; father to us both; grandfather to Florence, Iris and Hector; and sister to Jackie. We have chosen to raise money for Chance to Shine in Dad's memory as he was both a very keen cricketer and also a supporter of youth development.
Dad was an avid cricketer and cricket fan his whole life - even umpiring the week before he died in his role with the Essex Umpires Panel. Dad played for numerous cricket clubs, notably Leigh-on-Sea First team during his youth, then later moved on to Ekco Monarchs and Trojans (now known as Southend-on-Sea and EMT Cricket Club for which which he was also Hon. Treasurer). He had additionally been playing recently on a Thursday with Billericay Vets. Dad also played in a number of Mayoral charity matches and was chosen for the Essex (over 50s) team to play.
Chance to Shine use cricket as a tool to engage children and young people around the UK. Cricket can be a really powerful and lasting component of a young person's learning and development, in turn bringing wider social and educational benefits.
