Story

Mum passed away after an 8 month battle against CNS lymphoma which developed in her brain. It's a rare form of cancer which travels in and out of the central nervous system.

She was in hospital for a total of 231 days and battled bravely. After a series of 5 consecutive aggressive chemo treatments, she was in remission but a combination of muscle loss, due to being in bed for 8 months and depression, due to certain members of her family failing to come and visit her in hospital during all this time culminated in respiratory failure and after two weeks effectively in a coma, she passed away at 21:30 as the snow was falling outside in central London for the first time in 2017.

Androulla, was very hard working and with her husband founded and created the largest pitta bread bakery in Europe. Despite her wealth she was so humble, caring and loved everyone. She gave away tons of free bread to the poor because as a starving child in Cyprus, she was forced to beg door-to-door for stale bread which she then dipped into water to make only slightly edible. She never forgot her roots and she didn't want anyone else to suffer hunger for bread the way she did.

Her biggest quality was the love she poured on everyone, making them feel special and capable of anything. Her other beautiful quality was that she never judged nor criticised anyone ever. No matter how badly they wounded her or her family she refused to speak ill of them and made sure no one else around her did either. This struck me most about her.

I have great pride in sharing just how much I loved and respected her. When she first met me she took me into her arms as if she'd known me and loved me my entire life. The manner in which she welcomed me into her home & family touched me so much that immediately I knew I'd do anything for her.

Rest in peace now Mama for no one can hurt you anymore. What you did for your family can only be admired and may all those that did you wrong hang their heads in shame.
