We support slum dwellers in Delhi, India to tackle the cycle of poverty

Story

This is a charity that does amazing work lifting kids out of slum life and giving them an education they otherwise wouldn't have. I'll be going to Delhi with a very small team to meet many such kids, visiting the slums and mentoring some.

This walk I'll be doing (attempting) will be from St Stephen's Church, Twickenham (where I first learned about this charity) to St Michael's Church, Teddington the distance of which is 3,862 metres. Since breaking my neck 27 years ago in a car accident, I have walked with crutches, making this sponsored walk a little more challenging than it would be to most. My previous best in terms of walking distance is probably about 5 metres from the sofa to the fridge, so I'm still figuring out my strategy to cover the other 3,857 (without using the number 33 bus which pretty much covers this route).
