Founded in 1984, we're the UK charity for all affected by Addison's disease and adrenal insufficiency. We work to support and promote better medical understanding of this rare, life-threatening condition. All donations go to our 'unrestricted' funds, to help us in this vital work.

Story

Andy sadly passed away on 11/09/11. As many of you know he suffered most of his life with diabetes. However, he was also diagnosed in 2008 with Addisons disease. Addisons disease is a rare, chronic, life threatening illness brought about by the failure of the adrenal glands. Due to the rarity of the disease andy struggled each time he was admitted to hospital as the vast majority of doctors were unaware of this condition and it was a struggle to educate them on what was required to treat him. I think my dad could actually lecture on the subject now he gave so many doctors tutorials on it!

This is why we have chosen the Addisons Disease self help group as Andys chosen charity to try and raise awareness and support for this condition. Through this we aim to make Andrews life a legacy and achieve something positive from our devastating loss.

Thank you all for your support.
