The Cause
From a drunken conversation, came the challenge. From the
testosterone led challenge, came a cause.
A cause which was well supported by all, a cause which everyone was more
than happy to dip their hands into their pockets to give sponsorship and a
cause which touched the hearts of many. The sad reality is that most people have been unfortunate
enough to know somebody who has had cancer in one shape or form – so many
types and more increasingly common through better awareness.Around 300,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in the every year.
Every two minutes someone is told they have cancer. And every year more than
150,000 people die from the disease. It is difficult to overstate the human tragedy
caused by cancer.Hopefully the little amount of money this challenge raises
will go some way towards drug research, general awareness, prevention and even
to provide support to those caught up with first hand experience of cancer.
No matter where the pennies go, they will be used to good effect, by the very
worthwhile charity – Cancer Research.
