This year I became a Dad for the 1st time and felt incredibly fortunate, I was also inspired by my son Archie and the chance to do something positive in the year he was born.

Running has played a massive part in our journey to Claire and I becoming parents - both physically and emotionally, so it felt right to do a running challenge.

Starting in September I will complete 4 Half Marathons in 5 weeks, and have the honour of running for SANDS Lothians - raising money for this incredible charity in the process.

SANDS Lothians is a Scottish Charity that offers support to anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or soon after birth.

I’m calling the challenge “The Long Road Home”....

I will be running The Great North Run on the 9th of September, The Scottish Half Marathon on the 23rd of September,  The Great Scottish Run Half Marathon on 30th of September and then on the 7th of October I will be doing my own Half Marathon - a 13.1mile round trip from home to the Early Pregnancy Support Unit at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.  A  journey we have made many times over the years, and sometimes it was a Long Road Home...
