Great North Run 2017 · 10 September 2017 ·

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running the Great north run in 2017 for The MS Society. It will be the second time I've ran it after taking up running in July 2015, shortly after my mum who had MS died. Having never ran before and being overweight I never thought I'd be able to run a mile, let alone a half marathon.  I'm aiming to beat my 2016 time of 2.15.

Along with the GNR I'm also running a few other races the Great North 10k, Mermaid 10k, Everyone Active 10k and finally the Redcar Half Marathon(trying to beat my 2016 time of 2.01.12  on October 1st. With hopefully a few more in between.

I'm also aiming to run 1000miles in 2017 which is double what I ran during 2016.
