EMICS is a team of volunteer doctors who attend emergency incidents at the request of and in support of staff from the East Midlands Ambulance Service. EMICS doctors provide expert treatment and care at the scene, before the patient reaches hospital, dramatically increasing their chance of survival.

Story

To celebrate the L&RFWI centenary I will be walking the Leicestershire Round.  This 100 mile route takes the walker in a clockwise direction around the scenic route of Leicestershire and parts of Rutland.  One stage of the journey will be completed each day from the 14th to the 23rd of July.  I will be walking the equivalent of 4 marathons in 10 days.  Friends and relatives are joining me at stages along the route to give moral support, company and welcome refreshments.  We received a wonderful talk from Dr Ben Coyle, one of the EMICS doctors and I decided to donate all funds raised to this very worthy cause.
