Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So I entered the marathon last May during a mad moment in week 2 of the couch to 5k when I could only run for 3 minutes at a time! I kept it very quiet for many months before starting to tell people and i’ve been putting off making it “official” i.e. posting on Facebook as then there really is no going back!! Anybody who knows me will know I am no runner, as unsporty as you can get, and that the thought of people watching whilst attempting any physical activity is terrifying so what on Earth am I doing?!
It’s a bit of a mid life crisis (hitting 40 a few days after) but is mostly to help raise money and the profile of a charity very close to our hearts. Amaze are a Brighton based charity helping support families of children with special educational needs and disabilities and i don’t know what we’d have done without them. They have helped not just us but also many dear friends and their lovely boys and that’s just to name a few.
I know any money big or small would make such a difference, so thank you lovely people for helping. I know the money raised during the Brighton marathons raises enough to keep a whole service going for a year and I often think of this when I’m running in the dark, cold and rain (although I also imagine I’m in a rocky movie)😂. I’m a very slow runner so you’ll get your money’s worth as It’ll take me over 6 hours to get round but it’s the taking part that counts after all.
