In 2011 Steve traumatically lost the hearing in his left ear overnight.

I remember it well, we were about to go on a family holiday to Sri Lanka he’d had a cold sore and literally he woke up in the  morning and he couldn’t hear in his left ear. Steve also then suffered from debilitating tinnitus.  

The loss of hearing and the tinnitus affected every aspect of Steve’s life, he felt isolated, he lost his confidence and he struggled to adjust with his hearing loss. 

 I am running the marathon in memory of Steve and to raise awareness of this silent disability.
