At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My mother has dementia and is now living at Waverley House in Leominster, Herefordshire, where she receives the most wonderful care.

They are a specialist Dementia Care home and the staff there are amazing.

It is all thanks to the Alzheimer's Society that she is so well cared for.  They gave me and my family support all the way and are always there when we need them.  That is why I am going to cycle from London to Paris this year.

I want to say thank you to them in my own way for all their kindness.

I've never done anything like this before, in fact you could call me a couch potato, but that is going to change.

I have to admit that  the training is very tough but I am determined to keep it up.

So far I've managed to swim 32 lengths at my local pool.  That is half a mile!!  Who would have thought I could do that.    I'm cycling about 50-60 miles per week.  As the night's draw out I will be able to do more distance training.

Leading up to Christmas I made Christmas cakes and mince pies and sold them.  I held a book sale and also got staff to dress down where I work.  It was a good start to my fund raising efforts.

This year I am going to hold a quiz night, do more cake and book sales, and some supermarket bag wraps plus continuing to seek new sponsors.

If you could find it in your heart to sponsor me I would be most grateful.

If you can spare an item that I can use as a raffle prize that would be fantastic.

Your donation will give me the opportunity to help them to assist others who are in a similar situation.  Your support will go a long way and it will help our local community.  Please help me to help them continue their amazing work.  Thank you.
