I am running for Disability Law Service (DLS) because they are currently the only charity providing full spectrum legal advice to persons with disabilities across the UK. Disability is something that my family has dealt with on a personal level and still considered a taboo topic in modern society. Much more is needed to remove the stigma attached to both physical and mental disabilities. DLS provides legal support to those with disabilities and does a tremendous job in providing legal access and raising awareness of both physical and mental disabilities. DLS depends on charitable giving to provide free legal advice to people with disabilities and their carers to ensure they have access to their rights and justice. The money raised will have a substantial impact in helping DLS achieve their mission. In fact, 97.2% of donations go directly into the providing services for disabled people.
