Brighton Marathon 2023 · 2 April 2023 ·

Just 4.8% of people with a learning disability are employed in England. We support young people with learning disabilities to acquire the skills, confidence and independence they need to gain paid employment, reach their full potential and find their place in society.

Story

On April the 2nd. I will be running a marathon to help raise awareness and money for Team Domenica. Having learning disabilities myself, the cause is very close to my heart. However I was fortunate enough to have the right support and to be slightly less challenged in terms of the effect my difficulties had on me. I would like to be able to support the charity in anyway possible and any donations would be greatly appreciated.

More information:

People with learning disabilities are too often unemployed and marginalised in society, with just 5.1 finding paid work in England. Team Domenica is here to change that. We're here to give young people with learning disabilities a future.Through a range of training, education and support, we help them build the skills and confidence they need to find work. We then work with businesses in our community to remove barriers to employment. It works: our Supported Internship Programme has achieved an incredible 84% paid employment rate.
