Climbing Manalsu to build 3rd school in Nepal

Climbing Manaslu - Mountain of the spirit · 27 August 2014
After the 7 Summits i keep climbing and building schools. First two schools (Apr'11 & Oct'13) for over 300 kids are doing well and have been handed over to the community. Now its turn for 150 kids in Lower Tipling. Sending you kids to school please DONATE to enable other children to be able to write their names too. Expedition blog: https://whythehellbother.wordpress.com The climb - whats against me: 1. Three times as deadly as Everest (deaths to summits ratio). 2. My 1st mountain post monsoon - lots of rain / snow - avalanche risk, shorter days, colder! 3. New logistics / guiding company – untested level of support. 4. Had sever sciatica in Jan – lost feeling in three toes, still cannot fully embrace high hills L physical training was patchy. 5. Over 40 – will I ever learn?!
Whats with me: 1. Still love Nepal, its people and kids who want education. 2. I’ve been above 8000 meters twice. 3. Mentally & emotionally very fit (read the blog to learn why). 4. More diverse team of 8 – Go Girls! (I don’t know anybody). 5. Going with the biggest operator on the mountain. 6. Ticket booked for 45 days vs. 56 previously J … still most of it in a tent. 7. Base camp on stone & rock vs. glacier (warmer for the feet & backside)!
