Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride 2014 · 13 July 2014 ·

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

2 years ago today, I broke my leg in the most stupid cycling accident ever whilst training for this Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride.  18 months ago, I was told I would never be able to walk unaided and would never be able to ride my bike again.

So, what do they know?  Today, I am walking almost without a limp, and I am training for this bike ride again.  I am fitter now than I was 2 years ago and I am consistently improving on my times when compared to back then.  This 60 mile bike ride is the proof that they were all wrong.

Please sponsor me for this event.  Proceeds will go to The Christie.  My husband, Paul Howell, Steve Hall and Dave Brown are also participating in this event.  If anyone would like to join us, please feel free and let us know.

And I want to thank my wonderful husband, Paul, for the support and encouragement (and massage) that has helped me get this far, along with the rest of my family who have supported me through the last 2 years,  and my friends and colleagues.  The smallest thing makes a huge difference.

Thanks!

Anita
