Story
I did it! It was a beautiful day and a very scenic run. They managed to route the run to go past our accommodation twice so I got lots of support from Pete and the kids. Just back from a very lazy week in Shetland. Will need to put the trainers back on at some point before they gather dust!
Thanks to all who sponsored me and gave me so much encouragement.

I've actually developed a love/hate realtionship with this running thing. Now I've done my last long training run it feels great! I've had some highs: running blithely through beautiful countryside on sunny afternoons, and some lows: lost in the forestry in the drizzle, drinking from puddles, covered in mud. Whatever the conditions though, the comments on this page and the fact that people have given so generously keep me going.
I WILL make it to Aviemore!
Cheers!

Everybody knows I don't really like running, which means I must be having some sort of a mid life crisis having been persuaded into doing a half marathon. Please give me some encouragement by sponsoring me vast sums of money which will make it impossible for me not to run all the way to Aviemore. After all, you may not get this opportunity again!
The money will go to the DEC who, as I'm sure you are aware, are helping the victims of the famine currently affecting more than 10 million people in East Africa.
