Story
Around 20 years ago I travelled to the Himalayas for a long and arduous trek with my friend Vicky. We were so moved by the lack of basics in the rural areas that we raised a lot of money for a primary school in Lapcha that we had visited. Many of those same rural areas are now devastated by the recent earthquakes.
Mark and I will be joining friends and colleagues to cycle to Paris in September. We still have many months for much needed training but we are launching this appeal NOW as money is needed in Nepal sooner rather than later - especially now with the second earthquake. Larger charities often receive the bulk of the funding and have the experience to carry our immediate disaster relief. However grassroots organisations like Community Action Nepal with a local base have the knowledge and local support to rebuild communities.
