On Mothers' Day weekend my10-year-old-daughter and I will be swimming to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.

I've signed up for the 5K (approx 200 lengths in a 25m pool) but then swim crazy Agynes decided that she too wanted a piece of the action and is now doing the 1.5K (60 lengths). 

She's way faster than me so will probably spend most of her time watching me from the spectators' gallery as I try my hardest not to get cramp. 

I'll be pleased if I complete this in under 1hr and 40-minutes. TBH I'll be please if I complete this.
