Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. We’re striving for a cure, by revolutionising the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.

Story

Hello, I’m Anna Fifield, our Pappa’s oldest granddaughter and grandchild! Around 6-7 years before the passing of our incredible, generous, funny and loving grandpa, he was diagnosed with a form of Dementia and to be completely honest, those years were some of the toughest for all of us. Seeing a person you love and care for decline physically and mentally and being afraid of the possible moment they may not remember you anymore, is a hard thing to battle with for the whole family. It’s something no one should have to think about or endure, and that is exactly what this page is about.

I am going to be running the 2023 Brighton Marathon for Alzheimer's Research UK in order to raise awareness of dementia and for scientists and research to eventually find a way of stopping and preventing other families having to go through what we had to.

My Pappa ran many marathons in his youth all over the World in places such as Paris, Stockholm and Berlin for example and also took part in the Run of Finland from Utsjoki to Helsinki. Running a marathon has been something I have wanted to do for a couple of years now and I feel so very honoured to be able to take part in 2023. Please donate how ever much you feel you can because trust me, it all makes a difference.

With all my love and many thanks x
