Hello,

Thank you for your interest in my journey. I would first of all like to take the opportunity to raise awareness for the great work of the Living Well Project of Macmillan Cancer Support. One of the bestest people in the world - my friend Neil - is on the receiving end of it and they do a great job. He is an inspiration to me for almost 20years. But he also shares his story in support of others. He has a big heart and is one of the most generous and kind people you can imagine. Now this is my turn and only Little can I do!

My name is Maria and I am a canoeist. Over the coming Easter Bank-holiday weekend I will take part in the 70th Devices to Westminster International Canoe Race (www.dwrace.co.uk) in the attempt to paddle my J203 sit&switch C1 One Woman Canoe over 4 days, 125 miles and 77 portages from Devices to just downstream of Westminster Bridge.

As it stands only a handful of ladies have in 70 years successfully completed  this challenge of skill, physical and mental strength in a One Woman Canoe.

All your donations will go to Macmillan and their Living well project.
