Quite a lot of uncertainty in life at the moment... not sure when Al and I will get married, but have decided to run a marathon before we do.

Given how much charities have been struggling in this last year, I would like to raise some money for a cause close to my heart and for which we managed to raise over £2230 with our Sunrise Swim last year - Women's Aid. We all know but cannot really imagine how much worse the situation of those in abusive relationships will have been since then, through lockdown. Lovely Megan Newman has agreed to do it "with" me (80 miles away). Megs and I have been doing silly things together for about 25 years (including Tough Mudder pictured), so it is fitting that we are going to attempt our first marathon 'together'. It is not a formal event or race, there will be no crowds to lift us, no kudos, no organised water stations, nothing to keep us going except grit and the support of a fellow runner for parts of it.

To be clear, I am not a good runner, I am slow, sluggish and struggle, so this is a major (mad) endeavour...
