Story

On Saturday 21st May I will be competing at the 2022 Lanzarote Ironman event to raise funds for CancerCare, a local Northwest charity.

An Ironman race consists of a 2.4-mile sea swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run, all to be completed in under 17 hours.  Ironman Lanzarote is touted as one of the hardest Ironman events due to a tough hilly bike course and a fierce crosswind.

The money from this page and the Charity Auction Night (Saturday 11th June) will go to CancerCare, a local charity which offers help for  people affected by a cancer diagnosis or bereavement, support for children and young people affected by cancer, and support for family member.

I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2019. I had a double mastectomy and still receive treatment to stop the cancer returning. Cancercare offered me and my family lots of support during a difficult time. We are so grateful for their help x
