Hi I'm Annie,
I live with my hubby Stu, kids Daisy & Oliver in Warfield, Bracknell.
As some of you know I was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer last year at 35. Initally I was fobbed off by my GP with piles and anxiety, I was too young and the wrong sex to have bowel cancer and any blood would be black not bright red if it was further back.....she was so wrong. Sadly I trusted her and by the time it was found my tumor was big with lymph node involvement. After going though surgery to have a large section of bowel removed and 11 sessions of chemotherapy I am in remission. It's been a long journey and without my amazing team at Frimley and St Luke's Cancer Centre, support of my husband Stuart, children Daisy & Oliver, friends and fellow bowel cancer sufferers I wouldn't be where I am today.
You are never too young to have bowel cancer so Daisy and I are walking 5 miles though London on Saturday 15th of September to raise funds and awareness for Bowel Cancer UK. We are walking for everyone affected by bowel cancer, especially young people with young families.
Bowel Cancer UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. We’re here to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
