Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page on my London marathon for Guide Dogs.
Why Guide Dogs? I've had a big soft spot for these amazing animals ever since I was a little girl wishing my gran - who'd lost her sight before I was born - could have a guide dog. Sadly she wasn't suitable for one, but there are thousands of examples of how these four-footed heroes have totally transformed the lives of their owners, from teenagers to octagenarians, in all walks of life.
And why on earth a marathon? I've sponsored puppies for years - now I feel the next step is to use my new-ish passion for running (which may not survive beyond 25 April!) to give more support.
But I can only do it with your help! To train each puppy - like the little fella you see here - and fund his working life as a qualified guide dog costs nearly £50,000, involving 20 months training and seven years of support. And to ensure no-one who needs one is excluded, owners only have to contribute 50p a day. That's why Guide Dogs relies on the generosity of people like you. So I'd be hugely grateful if you'd sponsor me in pounding London's streets for 26 miles - and help make a big difference for blind and partially-sighted people.
Thanks so much for your support - I really do appreciate it.
