Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’m setting up this page as I approach my 40 birthday – which suddenly feels like quite a significant milestone.

In support of my dad who has been battling cancer for the past three years, and my mum who has been by his side every step of the way, I wanted to channel some energy and a mini mid-life crisis into doing something challenging and positive in recognition of his fight and of the support that Macmillan provide to so many people who are affected by cancer.

In doing so I have managed to convince a number of dear friends to also take part – a group of mums from Didsbury Road Primary School – Gail Hebson, Debbie Leck, Julia Trayhorn, Jillian Roberts, Louise Lee, Rebecca Ashley -  and our token male contingent, Dan!

Some are seasoned runners and will be way ahead, others are cursing me on a daily basis for even suggesting the idea (and ultimately agreeing to it) as they pound the streets dodging puddles and showers during these dreary winter months.

My view is that all the training and the event itself will negate my mini-egg addiction that I fall foul of each year between Christmas and Easter.
