My Dad had Alzheimer's before he died, and it was extremely tough (both physically and mentally), on my elderly mum. 

Mum sought support and solace in a local Alzheimer's carer's group, (in Frome in Somerset) where she said it was the only place where people really understood what she was going through.

Sadly the carers group had to close due to lack of funding. Although the carer's group carried on meeting up off their own back, more support locally to give respite would have helped hugely. 

My intention is to help get a carer's group up and running again in that area.
