Annika falling over on a catwalk

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!
On 28th September 2017 I'll face my scariest challenge yet! I've somehow got to strut down a catwalk with some form of grace and class... in heels and most likely a swimsuit!
I'm happy to admit that I can be a shy and nervous person, especially without a 'vino' or three to help me shake my social awkwardness. I WILL undoubtedly be petrified stepping onto that catwalk, but I also feel hugely honoured and excited to be part of this event. All the models on the day (both men and women) have had a breast cancer diagnosis and are at different stages of treatment.
Cancer treatment can strip you of all identity and confidence... but I am proud of my many scars. After 6 cycles of aggressive Chemo, 25 rounds of radiation, fertility treatment to freeze my eggs, 3 breast surgeries and counting... it's time to accept myself no matter what and show others that they can too! A cancer diagnosis doesn't end with treatment, yet everyone will walk down that catwalk loud and proud as a model and not a cancer statistic.
The show is an amazing occasion of fashion, fundraising and inspiration for all. Last years show raised over £400,000 and created much needed funds to help provide information and support for anyone diagnosed with breast cancer. When diagnosed there is so much information to absorb and decisions to be made... it's difficult to know where to begin! Breast Cancer Care provided information and support for me from day one, and they are still there if I need them.
Please support me on the catwalk by donating to this wonderful charity. Any amount will help! The reality is that there are more than half a million people in the UK today who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and every year another 60,000 hear the devastating news that they have the disease. Breast Cancer Care is there as support for every single one of them.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
