Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
We are running the London Marathon this April. A crazy idea for someone who has never done more than 5km (Anniken last September) and 7km (Simon in a Gorilla suit). So why are we doing it? Anniken always joked and said she'd run it when she turned 30 and that's come round much quicker than anyone thought. And Simon? Well he's running to keep her company and the added benefit of getting fitter...
We have been lucky enough to become part of the Get Kids Going! team. Get Kids Going! is a fantastic charity that helps disabled kids and young people get into sport by among other things providing light weight wheelchairs, training and physiotherapy. You can find out more by visiting their website www.getkidsgoing.com.
With a little help and encouragement from the Get Kids Going team we started our 18 week training plan Tuesday before Christmas and have already broken some personal records. Come rain or shine (or snow and ice) you will find us running the streets of training for the big day on the 25th April when we will be running 26.2 miles (that is a whopping 42km!)
We have pledged £4000 so please help us reach our goal, and motivate us along the way. Your donation, however big or small, will make a huge difference to kids who can't otherwise enjoy sports.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your donation will go straight to Get Kids Going! and don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box if you're a taxpayer.
Thanks for your support,
Simon and Anniken
