Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for Focus Ireland.

I started sea swimming this Summer and a couple of months ago I decided to set myself the personal challenge of swimming for 100 consecutive days. I will reach that goal on Friday, 4th December.

Everyday after the swim, I am so grateful to go home to my lovely warm house, a hot shower and comforting food. I have been thinking lately that so many people in our beautiful country do not have this luxury. There are 8,656 people homeless and 2,583 children. These figures do not include people sleeping rough.

It is so very sad to think of these children without a home as having access to regular food and shelter is not just important for physical health but also essential for positive mental health.  I would really like to help in some small way with this fundraiser. Everyone deserves somewhere to call “home”. I would like the 100 days of swimming to have a meaningful purpose. I hope you will contribute. Thank you, Annmargaret.
