I decided that rather than receiving gifts for my birthday there is something much more deserving of my friends generosity and that is Caring Matters Now.
As you may know my eldest daughter Fay was born with a rare brown birthmark covering 70% of her body. When she was first born we know very little only that there were no real successful treatments, that it may become cancerous and could affect her development if there was any pigmentation on her brain.
We were very lucky in that we soon found a specialist at Great Ormond Street Hospital and also a support group Caring Matters Now.
This support group has made such a difference to Fay and our family. They have provided support and information and have allowed Fay to meet others with the same condition and make friends. We can now allow Fay to grow up as an individual and support her in stiriving to achieve whatever she wants to in the future.
Not only do the support group provide valuable information and guidance they also raise money to fund research into this rare condition and without this funding we would not know what we do now.
So any money you give will go towards helping others affected by CMN and provide funds for the pioneering research programme.
I am truly thankful to you for visiting this page.
