Story
A few years ago I took part in my first and then second Parachute Jump, it was quite a massive achievement for me to achieve this goal as I had a considerable amount of body weight to shed. It was a life long dream to soar with the birds, well... plummet like a rock but it's all the same. lol.
Fast forward a few years and I've managed to keep the weight off through my new passion of looking after myself and it is now my aim and desire to grow another passion of mine. Helping people in need.
Being able to help people gives me a massive amount of fulfilment but that only goes so far. There are a lot of homeless and vulnerable people in the North West and in particular in the Blackpool/Fylde area. Unfortunately, too many people think that because people are homeless, it's their own fault. Likewise, if the homeless person also has a an alcohol or drug addiction that it's their own fault.
This is not the case for everyone and some people are homeless due to circumstances beyond their control and their addiction or dependency on alcohol or drugs is due to a history that we are unaware of such as possible abuse, or post traumatic stress disorder, depression, fear, anxiety to name a few.
Imagine a world where more people get more understanding and help to get back in to working society and to be able to provide a life for themselves. This is exactly what Street Life do and help so many people 'get back on track'.
However, Street Life is lacking some serious funding and is massively behind in being able to keep it's doors open and especially it's over night shelters and needs as much support and help as possible.
So, I'm putting my life on the line, facing my fear of heights (the falling aspect) and jumping out of a plane once again in a bid to help raise funds for a fantastic charity and cause.
So please show your support and donate whatever small amount you can possible spare.
Let's help people.
Thank you.
