We fight to improve mental health services to people in the North East

Story

Anxious Minds is a North East based charity who offer early intervention mental health support for civilians, serving soldiers and veterans.

Whilst waiting lists for professional treatment through the NHS, Private Medical Care and other larger charities is stretched, Anxious Minds offer immediate, excellent support through; Peer Support, education, mindfulness, art, Ti Chi and many other supportive ways for "FREE".

I am currently using the help and support of Anxious Minds due to extremely challenging times. The support from the team, and other mental health sufferers are supporting me recover back to normal health. I have been supported by the charity and the help of professional medical care for the past year and although the professional health care im currently receiving is excellent, for me it has not been enough. This led me to seek more support.

I came accross Anxious Minds on Facebook through a friend and i knew it was the extra support i needed. I contacted them and i got a warm, immediate responce offering support.

The team (Eddie, Kath, Margaret) are whole heartedly amazing people whom together and as individuals provide excellent support and run a charity for all. Not forgetting all the individuals who attend peer support. They are also a huge part in what makes me get out and about.

The Ben Nevis Challenge will be aimed at supporting veterans who are facing mental health illnesses. Although there is a lot of support for veterans, it simply is not enough. These men and women have selflessly volunteered to serve and protect our nation and our government is failing thousand's of them. my personal belief is that they are also being failed by some larger charities as their CEO's are earning a staggering £250,000 + salery a year! Your money will go directly to support the people who need it and will not line the pockets of these types of individuals.

"Smaller charities make a bigger difference".

Anxious Minds has kindly offered to support larger charities such as Combat Stress and also provide support to NHS patients due to the extream demand and get no funding from them.

This for me can only be described as a miniscule offering of thanks for their support and a golden opoertunity to help others. So please donate to a charity that does realy make a difference.

If you do not wish to donate through just giving, you can contact me through PM, Facebook or even just support through sharing this page.

Also if you would like to take part in the event and help fund raise, please get in touch.

Fine Fish of Benwell and Benwell Carpets also kindly hold Anxious Minds charity boxes so please donate into these if you don't wish to use the other methods available. if any of my friends who own businesses or know anyone with a business who would like to support through charity boxes I would be extremely grateful for the support.

Thank you all in advance for your support.
