While there will never be any permanent cure for Dementia-related illnesses, research into methods of easing the symptoms continue. Music has been proven to have a dramatic, positive impact on the well being of people with Dementia.

From swing to rock and roll, music has the unmatched power to comfort, stimulate and re-awaken previously lost memories. Music, especially singing and playing has the ability to reach the damaged parts of the brain in a way that other methods of communication fail to do, which in turn boosts confidence and self-esteem of those with a Dementia diagnosis.

We are asking for donations which will enable us to buy instruments such as tambourines, maracas, triangles, small drums and other easy to play percussion instruments for our service users at our day care groups. We hope to reach a target of £100 to enable us to buy a set of instruments to supply one of our day care groups.
