Lands End to John O'Groats · 24 February 2006

The Friends Of Wareside School raise money to buy resources that our beyond the budget of the small village school. Recently it has bought sports equipment, computers and refurbished an ageing library.

Story

On April Fools day, Nicholas Buxton and Ian Collins set off from Lands End to John O'Groats.  This is a serious challenge for two about-to-be 40 year olds!   We hope to pedal the 1,000 miles in 12 days. That’s an average of 80 miles a day!   Henny and Sharon plus children will be motoring along in support for this Easter holidays adventure.

Since we both have children at our village school children, we are supporting the Friends of Wareside School.   With the money raised they hope to buy an interactive whiteboard for the infant classroom.    Blackboards have gone very high tech since our day!   “Using an Interactive whiteboard increases the pupils interest and enjoyment of lessons, teachers are able to provide more varied and dynamic lessons and they can easily cater for the different learning styles of the pupils” says Mrs Batten, Head Teacher.  The equipment is expensive and beyond the budget of our small village school.

Thank you all for the support you can give them.
