Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

The Prostate Cancer Charity and Breast Cancer Care have teamed up joint official charities for the 2012 Virgin London Marathon. Together we are TeamPB! Our goal is to recruit our biggest team to date and to raise £1 million to help change the lives of those affected by prostate and breast cancer. Prostate cancer and breast cancer are the most common cancers in men and women respectively in the UK today. This year 37,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and 50,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Combined, more than 750,000 people are living with these two cancers in the UK right now. By running together we can raise more awareness and more money to support the more than 750,000 people living with these two cancers in the UK right now. Donations and Gift Aid made to the Team PB JustGiving pages will be split 50/50 between both charities.

I have uploaded photos of my history in lyrca - this, I’ve been assured, will encourage more donations...Brendan?

I am organising an event to raise the remaining funds, a pub quiz with epic prizes and lots of fun. Watch out for further updates…

So I've decided it's time to run an actual marathon for Team PB supporting those with prostate cancer and breast cancer. Both of these are close to home and so I'm doing a combined effort.

I am aware you all probably get a lot of these requests for sponsorship so in order to meet my rather hefty £2000 target I am willing to take suggestions from you on how to raise the money. Bear in mind I will do the obligatory cake sales and force my sisters to do the same on my behalf.

If you can think of any other ways for me to raise this cash I would be most greatful. If these suggestions involve nudity or lycra I reserve the right to vito or up the price significantly.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
