Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Oct 7th I'll be doing something that's quite outside of my comfort zone .. and running a half marathon! I'm doing this for an amazing cause - to raise money for The Loldia School Fund to support The Loldia Primary School in Kenya. Around 1300 children attend this school between the ages of 6-17 and the aims of the fund are 2-fold:
To improve the resources and quality of education at Loldia Primary School
To provide secondary education through scholarships to the children
Hoangh-Anh Jenkins is an old friend and a trustee of the school and it was she who introduced me to the challenge of raising money for this great school. Education is something that we all take forgranted in the West but in many parts of Kenya, there are severe constraints on resources to support the educational needs of the children growing up there. Training for this half marathon has been a great challenge to me and I had to overcome a lot of obstacles to continue training for it. Nearly thought I wouldn't be able to do it! I cannot promise I'll run the whole length but I will finish it one way or another.
