Paris Marathon 2012 · 15 April 2012 ·

DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal. We fund pioneering research and provide care and support to individuals and families living with EB.

Story

On the 15th April 2012 Cookie and Archie will be crossing the channel, donning their trainers, strapping into their lycra and running le Marathon de Paris. There will be no time for steak frites and crepes or even a bateau mouche down the Seine when they embark on their romantic stroll (26 miles) in the city of love.....

We are running for DebRA, a national charity that helps individuals and families affected Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) - a rare genetic condition which causes the skin to blister and shear at the slightest friction, or even spontaneously resulting in lifelong disability and pain.

For more information and to understand why we have both been influenced by this charity, please click on the link below and watch a moving documentary about the condition:

There are at least 5,000 people living with this condition in the UK for which there is no cure and although it affects few, the effects are devastating. We have chosen the charity for this reason, and due to the lack funding and awareness, we urge you to donate generously to a cause in which we can assure you that your money will be invaluable.
