Hi
Thanks for vising the Arctic Circle Epic Journey JustGiving web page, here's the plan:
Easter 2010
2 Campervans
5 People (2 drivers, 2 teenagers and 1 4yr old)
3000 miles there and back in 18 days
Destination The Arctic Circle
An epic adventure in the spirit of a man, my brother Nick Crofts, who once drove his Mustang to Poland to visit a friend.
To raise money and awareness for the hospital who are giving Nick and my family hope for the future after he sustained severe brain damage in a fall in November 2008.
After surviving the initial fall, Nick spent 9 months in Charing Cross Hospital fighting infection after infection before finally being transferred to the Royal Hospital for Neuro Disability in August 2009.
His first 2 months were slow going in terms of his physical well being but he is now responding incredibly well to rehab. He has a modified wheelchair and we are able to take him around the various areas of the hospital. He is able to recognise all his immediate family and can write his children's names.
We are hoping that the rehab team working with Nick will be able to establish a method of communication one day.
Nick's care and rehab are PCT funded however the RHN is a charitable concern; "We are a non-profit making charity. Voluntary contributions bridge the gap between what statutory funders pay for a placement and the actual cost. So that clients have improved quality of life, retain independence, choice and dignity."
Please help the RHN to continue it's amazing work by making a donation and supporting us in our challenge!
Thank You.
Nick's family.
