Story
Background
I am a teacher at London Islamic School established in 1999, which is a subsidiary of Esha'atul Islam Masjid (Ford Square Masjid) established in 1983.
The school is situated within the Masjid building using mainly the 1st, 2nd and basement floors and provides secondary education for boys alongside Hifz or Aalimiyyah, the school has achieved GCSE results above the national average over the years, produced countless huffaz and achieved a 'Good with outstanding features' report from Ofsted at the most recent inspection, see www.londonislamicschool.org for further details on the school.
The Project
The Masjid was granted planning permission to construct a new four storey building which will link to present building and works have already commenced with foundations being laid. When completed the project will achieve:
- Expansion of main prayer hall.
- Larger women's hall for educational and other activities.
- Extra classrooms for the London Islamic School
- Religious and social advice centre.
- Separate ablution and shower facilities for men and women
How can you help me and my tutor group?
In order to teach the students the importance of charity, every academic year in school we raise funds for a different charity with this year's funds going towards the Ford Square Masjid. The class that raises the most funds will have their tutor group name engraved onto the charity shield and be labelled 'Fundraising class of the year'. We are last year's champions and wish to retain our title so help us do this in the following ways:
- Make a Donation.
- Encourage others to donate.
