Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and I wanted to let you know a bit about the Beatson Pebble Appeal and the hard work they do to improve lives who are affected by Cancer. My Dad had cancer and thankfully received treatment and pulled through.

It was launched by The University of Glasgow in 2007 to raise £10 million to build a new cancer research facility;the Beatson Translational Research Centre (the Beatson TRC). People there work to convert basic cancer research into real improvements in treatments for patients, helping to save lives by reducing the time it takes to develop new drugs for cancer patients. It focuses on common tumours, those that cause the most deaths in Scotland such as endocrine (breast, prostate and ovarian); smoking related (lung, throat, oral) and gastrointestinal cancer.

Please support the Beatson Pebble Appeal to try to ensure a brighter future for cancer patients in Scotland and beyond, with the centre due to open in 2013.
