We provide mental health support to people in the Carlisle & Eden districts

Story

On June the 21st, some friends and I will be conquering the 96 miles of the West Highland Way and climbing Ben Nevis on the final day. The West Highland Way starts at Milngavie and routes through the West Highlands via Glen Coe, to Fort William

Many do this in 7 days, some in 5, one absolute hero ran it in less than 13 hours. We plan to push ourselves to do it in 4 days, with the addition of the climb to the summit of Ben Nevis.

I have chosen to do this in support of Carlisle Eden Mind who supported me through mental health issues for a number of years, which on reflection was invaluable, not only for holding myself together, but also my family. Having also found out that a friend who I worked with for 10 years took his own life at Christmas due to mental health, I feel that support of a local mental health charity is vital. Please spare a penny or a pound to help the situation for others.
