We are raising money for an amazing charity called Lucy Air ambulance for Children. It’s hard to express how grateful we are to them for flying Arthur from Bolton to Kingston at just one week old.
They helped us at one of the most difficult times of our lives. We were on the motorway travelling back from a weekend in Scotland when I went into labour at 28 weeks pregnant. We just managed to make it to the closest hospital, Royal Bolton where Arthur was born weighing 2lb11oz.
We were stranded 200 miles away from our home, and from our one year old daughter Juliette. Arthur was too fragile to be transferred to a hospital nearer home by road ambulance and the NHS don’t fund planned air transfers.
When he was one week old, a nurse said she knew of a charity that might be able to help us.
And within just three days of first hearing their name, Lucy Air Ambulance for Children had flown our boy safely to Kingston hospital. Air ambulances are something that we tend not to think about until we need one ourselves. I certainly didn’t.
Please help us to raise money to keep Lucy in the air for other children and families.
Thank you,
Victoria, Tom, Juliette and Arthur
