Story

Hi everyone  well I am completely overwelmed by your amazing generosity in my fundraising justgiving page, raising money for Maggie's Cancer Care.  Your kind generosity has raised £2,040.00 and last Friday I went to Maggie's to donate this money and take some photos to update my justgiving page. So please see attached photos of the cheque donated and 3 of the lovely ladies I have met at Maggie's and who have helped me on my journey so far. As most of you may already know, I have now been diagnosed with a very rare form of Mucinous Cancer. Having received this news, it has made me even more determined to fight this disease so along with my lovely Cousins love and determination,, they have organised a fundraising event on Saturday 27th July at Uplands Rugby Club. I have decided to find a different cancer charity to raise money for at this event, so as soon as this is confirmed I will put up an invitation to this event on Facebook. Please please please if you can come along to this event and donate anything, it will be greatly appreciated and should be a fabulous evening and the money we raise will be going to another great cause.  Together we can fight this horrible disease and find a cure for those who have suffered before us and sadly not made it, but  also help all of us who are still fighting  We are going to kick cancer where it hurts and find a cure   I am a very lucky lady, as I have just been granted the funding for my cancer drug, but sadly there are others out there who haven't. So I want to try and raise some more money to try and help these people. Thank you again for all your wonderful donations so far. Lots of love Ashley xxx

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year in December I was diagnosed with Ovarian and Colonic Cancer and was operated on to remove two tumours and am now going through chemotherapy.

One side effect of chemotherapy is losing your hair, so I have chosen to shave my hair off and run a coffee morning to raise money for  Maggies Cancer Care, who have been my strength and given me huge support when I have been at my lowest.

As we all know Cancer is now very common and I want to raise awareness to get yourself checked out as soon as possible if you develop lumps or feel unwell. I did and I am thankful that the NHS were very quick to refer me for checks and treatment.

I am very fortunate that I have a second go at life, as one of my tumours was very big and had actually ruptured, before my operation, which could have been severe if they had not operated when they did. Sadly there are thousands of people who don’t survive from Cancer, which is why I would love it if you could make a donation to this worthy cause.
