Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend, Rob, were attacked one night, in 2007, and beaten. Sophie was put in to a coma, which she never woke up from. In August 2007, Sophie was pronounced dead. It is suspected and thought that the reason for the attack was because the two of them were part of the alternative community.

I have long considered myself to be part of that community, and have always been a strong supporter of all those who are as well. The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was started so another tragedy like this could be avoided.
