Story
Last year I was diagnosed with stage three thyroid cancer and underwent a full thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine treatment. I am in the all clear now and wanted to give others the opportunity to be supported just like I was . Climbing out is a charity that helps those facing a life limiting illness, trauma or diagnosis. From experience you never know when you might need a charity like this to get you back on your feet and help you realize that life doesn't have to stop when you are faced with a life limiting illness like cancer or an amputation.
On the 29th November 17 I will be walking the roof of the 02 arena with a team of amputees to launch the I can campaign for European limb loss day and European day of persons with disabilities, which is part of a charity called Limb power. The Limb power charity exists to help those following an amputation. The money raised will go towards two camps including a camp with climbing out. It is easy to get stuck in a rut following a diagnosis or amputation and sometimes figuring out ways to move life forward can be difficult and challenging. I was accepted onto a climbing out week and can speak first hand the importance of weeks like this existing.
Money raised will go towards supporting individuals aged 13-24 years to attend a week at one of the youth camps. Hope you can help me in reaching my target. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Love,
Ashley.
