Virgin London Marathon 2014 · 13 April 2014 ·

Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

I am a serving officer in The Parachute Regiment.  In September 2012 I broke my back in a parachuting accident.  I spent some time in a wheel chair and in a back brace for four months.  I am fortunate to recover as well as i have.  Along the road to recovery I met others who have not been so fortunate with their spinal injuries and may never be able to walk again.

I am running the London Marathon in boots and carrying a bergan weighing 40lbs.  My girlfriend and training buddy Jess is also running it with me, but without the weight!!!

I hope to raise some money for Spinal Research who could help those with spinal injuries get back on their feet.

Thankyou
